The New Students Centre is being constructed on the site of the old St Philips building on Sheffield Street next to the Peacock Theatre in London, WC2. It will comprise 65,671 sq ft (6,101 sq m) over six storeys and two basement levels and has been designed by architects O'Donnell Tuomey, who were selected through an RIBA competition.
Our works package includes the construction of a uniquely shaped 6 floor frame with 2 storey basement to the exacting standards of the Archtect's requirements, within a logistically challenging site and demanding programme. Largely constructed using bespoke shutters, with exposed fair face concrete including various grades of sandblasted finish and Keim sealer. Included features were: Insitu fair face concrete spiral staircse; 3 storey twinwall; acoustic floating floor; twinwall chimney features and bespoke exposed troughed slabs.
